Actually there are 25 contenders, not counting the third party candidates.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I think that Obama is a great candidate in any case. What I think is a better option for him at this point, however, is if he campaigns for the Dems in this election cycle and spend the time, as you suggest, in a second Senate term. His campaigning will raise his national profile and make him more friends across the country. He also then gets over the "thin resume" problem. At this time, of course, given all the attention, it's easy to think that Obama should continue.
